Spencer Murgatroyd, hostess of Hannah’s Tea Place, has received her first donation toward her goal of 100 knit hats for the Everett Chalmer’s Hospital.
Yarns on York handed Spencer the first of hopefully many hats, along with a sizable donation of yarn to help other knitting enthusiasts join her on the Fredericton Region Museum balcony this summer.
As a result of the generous donations received, Spencer, while portraying the character of Loyalist girl Hannah Ingraham, is pleased to provide supplies to knitters willing to help her reach her goal. She will also be giving patrons lessons, if they are interested in helping out but don’t know how to knit.
She intends to kick off the knitting project on Canada Day when Hannah’s Tea Place officially opens, so with donations already rolling in, she is very excited to welcome everyone, knitters or otherwise, to the balcony for a pleasant and relaxing time.
Come join Hannah on Canada Day from 1 o’clock to 4 o’clock on the Fredericton Region Museum balcony. You can relax with iced or hot tea and a snickerdoodle, and try your hand at knitting for a good cause.
